1. Prepare the Subfloor:
Before installing the marble flooring, it is essential to prepare the subfloor properly. Start by removing the existing flooring materials, ensuring that the surface is clean, dry, and level. Repair any cracks or imperfections, and ensure the subfloor is structurally sound. It may be necessary to consult a professional to assess and fix any underlying issues.
To ensure a smooth and stable surface for the marble, apply a layer of underlayment or backer board to the subfloor. 2. Plan the Layout:
